Strawberry Sauce

Does anything say summer quite like fresh strawberry sauce?

I doubt it.

That is why I love strawberries. Yes, because of this sauce. It's so versatile and can make any ordinary recipe POP! As soon as strawberries are in full swing in the grocery store, I know it's time to make this sauce.

The possibilities for this sauce are endless, but here are a few of my favorites-

Waffles, pancakes, and french toast
Angel Food Cake
Topped on vanilla ice cream
Spread on toast

Strawberry Sauce
1 lb. strawberries, washed, hulled, and sliced
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 lemon, juiced

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small pot over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook over medium low hear for 20-30 minutes.
  3. Serve warm or cold
Notes: If you want sauce with no berry chunks, place in the blender for a few seconds, and voila!
